The progress that children have made and the level of attainment that they have achieved is assessed throughout their time in school. At Fox Hill Primary we monitor the progress that pupils are making constantly to ensure that their learning is tailored to meet their needs. During the time that children spend at primary school, there are also specific points of statutory assessment. The attainment of children at these points are recorded nationally.
From September 2014, when the new National curriculum was introduced, the existing system of attainment levels has been removed and not replaced. Children who are being taught the new curriculum should no longer be assessed using the old national curriculum levels.
Our Trust has been involved in developing the Sheffield assessment approach ‘STAT Sheffield’. This approach is being adopted be almost all Sheffield schools, in addition to many other schools across the region and nationally.
